So I received a thought today, and decided to rant about it on here to see what you guys think.
Recently I have been reading a lot about quantum physics and the electromagnetic spectrum. It also helps that I am in a school that teaches a lot about the properties of waves.
Thanks to quantum physics we are now coming to an understanding that at the smallest scale, all of our known reality is a waveform. This is seen with the double slit experiment.

Everything is behaving as waves and particles at the same time. One interesting thing about a wave is its need to be in a constant state of motion. This is the frequency it resonates at. Just like when you hit a note on a guitar, the string vibrates at a certain speed.
Since this is the case, all of reality as we know it could be mapped out on the electromagnetic spectrum according to the resonate frequencies.

One interesting thing about the electromagnetic spectrum is that it could theoretically continue on forever in both directions. The reason it stops is because we can only measure so far, we cannot perceive what lies outside our known frequencies.
Since there is a theoretically infinite array of different frequencies in the universe, we can explain how other dimensions are possible. All frequencies we know and measure reside in the third dimension with us. The way these frequencies interact with each other is how we perceive reality. So 4th dimensional beings could exist in their own "universe" or "frequency band" in the same space we reside in now. We would not be able to perceive them because we are outside of their frequency band. Meaning that the "multiverse" all resides in the same location over an infinite amount of related frequency bands.
Now according to a new study about the effects of magic mushrooms on the brain, it is shown that brain activity is reduced while "tripping". Now some might jump on the bandwagon of trying to say this is proof that mushrooms are destructive. If you look closer at the study however, it shows that the more intense the trip, the less brain activity is shown.

This is astounding information. Even as the brain reduces activity a perception of consciousness is still felt, and with more clarity, or intensity! The brain acts as an inhibitor of incoming information. The brain receives electrical impulses via neurons that decipher information. This information comes to us through our senses.
Does this mean that consciousness can reside outside of the body? Think about it. Our senses act just like an antenna, they tune in and receive information from the outside world. Our brain acts just like a radio that the antenna is connected to. It receives the signal from the antenna and deciphers the information to be presented in a cognitive form. Just because the radio is broken, does not mean there is no signal to be received.
Now I know it is hard to imagine consciousness without the filter of our own minds, but I have a few examples that may help you out. Have you ever had a dream? Our mental activity is still alive and kicking as we sleep, and yes our senses are still working. But what we experience is not confined by the third dimension, or what we experience in our waking life. We seem to be operating in a different realm. We can say these experiences are real, yet we cannot scientifically quantify or verify them. The dream realm could indeed be an alternate reality. The same could be said with near death experiences, and hallucinations. We are truly experiencing something, yet we cannot scientifically validate it. In the world we live in though, if its not backed scientifically it is not real. This is an absurd notion. If we are truly going to move forward and learn more, we cannot restrict our self to a narrow band of quantifiers.
What I am proposing is that we are a mere reaction to a universal consciousness being projected through multiple receivers rather than individual conscious beings.
What do you think?
