Community Tip: Get your group on!

In this Community Tip article, we will explore what groups are, and hopefully how to benefit most from this feature on Esoteric Online.

Groups are a great way for the community to organize discussion by shared interest. A good deal of activity occurs within many of the groups here, and there is a good chance you will find one of interest to you. In this aspect it's also a great place to meet others in the community with similar interest.

The groups listing on the homepage is set to show the groups with the latest activity, which makes it an excellent place to begin exploring groups of interest, and finding one that have some recent action. You can also access groups from the main menu at all times or by visiting http://www.esotericonline.net/groups.

If you are a blogger or post in forums on Esoteric Online, and have one that is relevant to a group, please feel free post it there as well and those discussions can be more easily found at a later time. The only thing we ask is that you try not post in too many places, in a manner that makes them less relevant and less organized. As with blogs, you can also "Like" and share group discussions with others.

Some of the features of Groups include:

- Integrated Discussion Forum, where individual posts can be commented on as well as replies on those comments. This is a great way to add a topic for discussion in a specific subject area.

- Get group updates and news specifics to your area of interest

- Group-wide commenting for quick adding of content directly to a group

- Group creators can also set up many pages for the group, and is an excellent place to post and find information with less restrictions on formatting, including new advanced features, and that stays in the right hand side bar for easy access.

Although there are many groups available to participate in, you may find they don't exactly fit your interests. We most definitely encourage you to go ahead and start one up, it really is very easy.
