My first exposure to Tibetan Buddhism was through the so called "Tibetan Book of the Dead."  Its actual title is:  "The Great Liberation upon Hearing in the Intermediate State" or "Bardo Thodol."  It is a guide for souls in transition from one life to the next or to Liberation, if the consciousness is well prepared for the overwhelming psychic onslaught which occurs!  Namaste and shalom!
