Anna,
I received your E-Mail about the alchemy class at U of Chicago but unfortunately do not live close enough to attend. I've read some books by Dennis Hauck and found him interesting. In the description of the class it seems to be almost derisive about people who seek to actually learn the physical aspects of alchemy (i.e. turning lead into gold) as though such a person is only a fortune seeker. I hope that isn't the way you view me as nothing could be further from the truth. I see turning lead into gold as a kind of final exam for Alchemy 101 not as a final truth in itself. The best way to describe this is; a person can't write the great American Novel without first learning their A B Cs.
Yours in frienship
Paul
