- Hello! I am somewhat new to the esoteric arts and philosophy, and the small amount of information i have gathered in the past year has moved me so deeply, that it could only be right. Spirituality and higher understanding of myself and the world around me has replaced most of my previous and profane goals of wealth and materialism, which i realized were mostly the product of my environment, as i have always felt there must be more than money and living 'comfortably'. I am hoping to make connections with people who are like-minded (i imagine i came to the right place) and willing to offer guidance or assistance in my studies and personal/spiritual growth. I am hoping to soon be ready to begin experimenting with Spagyrics, which is exciting =)

Matt - I have been studying alchemy, theosophy, symbolism and Egyptian / hermetic esoteric thought since the late '80's. I beleive that when we get discoveries organically it is because we studied these things in a past life. We are drawn to these subjects because we wish to continue what we began before. As for suggestions, one of the best books that illuminates the esoteric meanings behind much alchemical symbolism is Mark Hedsel's "The Zelator". Mark was a modern day initiate who studied under a few masters and reveals much in his book. I would also recommend "The Secret Doctrine" by H.P.B. It is a difficult book to slog through front to back but you can dip into it using the index and following the tread of whatever subject that is of interest.
BTW - I am headed to Miami on business (Jan. 23rd - 25th) if you want to meet up for a cup of coffee.
