What's your Path? Portals coming soon!

Greetings all!

Just wanted to mention some really cool new features being implemented on Esoteric Online. Many of you may be familiar with the default setting for new members here termed "Seekers", but we wanted to provide some additional opportunities to more closely reflect what resonates with you, in relation to your current path of spirituality or study.

We are just getting started with this, but want to invite everyone to go ahead and view/edit their profile info with something that you more closely resonate with - the default listing will remain "Seeker". Please take note, this isn't so people could be labeled, boxed in or so we can help to boost individual ego's, but there is much more functional and inspiring intent behind these new features currently in place and to come. The existing Paths are listed by current activity and some of the more prominent paths in the community, and may change based on your feedback.

Some of the advantages of this include:

• As mentioned above, allowing you to have more options with regards to member listing
• Allows others to more easily discover like minds and hearts here on profiles and elsewhere
• Members are often interested in finding our more about a path, and can ask another
• Provides a new, more direct option in our advanced member search functions
• Add new personal "Badge" functionality for our members
• Last but not in any way least, it begins to lay the groundwork for a new functionality currently in the works, Path portals.

We are also currently investigating some additional areas this can be useful, but plan to get started with what is currently determined, and improve based on community feedback.

Path Portals

So what exactly are Path Portals? As we grow and activity increases, it can become increasingly difficult for existing and new members to find the type of content they resonate with and/or are looking for, or like individuals to build relationships with - Path Portals are aimed at improving this. It is our hope this will provide a beneficial summary, atrium, or foyer for the community as one enters and begins to explore, as well as providing new ways for current members.

Path Portals for specific subjects will include:

• Important or relevant information about the subject here in the community
• Groups and pages listings
• Collection of specific blogs and forums
• Relevant videos by keyword
• Lessons or How-to information (if available)
• Links to Radio Shows
• Easy Access to EO's Library - directly to specific categories of e-books
• Navigation to Mystery School for subjects available (coming this spring!)
• And more to be announced!

Community Badges

In addition to these new updates, you can now access the community badge system if you have other websites or communities where you would like to let others know about Esoteric Online.

What areas of the community do you feel could be spotlighted more to new and existing members? What types of information do you feel has been for yourself or new members been difficult to find? Are there other ways you feel these features could be used to find like minds and hearts to build relationships with? Every one of you are to thank for the building of this great community, and each of you has a unique perspective that is valued.
