Introduction

The Mystery School is a dynamic learning environment for elements of the ancient Mystery Schools. This will include interactive courses in Hermeticism, Rosicrucianism, Kabbalah, Platonism and Taoism. The Mystery School on Esoteric Online will actually be broken down into each area of study, with each having their own group, so that discussion can be relevant to each tradition. It is in this main group here, that each of the traditions will be shown to connect, that the Mysteries are but ONE Mystery.

The journey of Initiation is an exciting and forever life-changing process. While it is true all aspects life offers stages of initiation, there are times and circumstances where a seeker moves into a directed intent of a willful, self-evolution through the doorway of Initiation - Path Portals are a foundational part of that journey here at Esoteric Online, helping to bring all areas of relevant study material available here, under one location for efficient study on ones path.

 

Primary components of a Path Portal:

In a general sense, Path Portal will be structured to contain the following aspects and sections in order to accomplish their purpose.

  • Portal Doorways - These provide efficient access to study material available in the community, organized into one location.
  • Path of Initiation Overview - A summary of the Paths historical context, basic principals, and areas of study.
  • Pathways for Extended Study - The Initiate can move beyond the general portal page in some instances, if further resources are available.
  • Mystery School - Upon completions of Portals and Pathways, the Initiate can begin study in the Mystery School classes corresponding to existing Path Portals (currently in development).

 

Available Path Portals:

While they will be continually updated as possible with available study materials, the current Path Portals and development status are listed below along with their current status.

 

Path portals can also be accessed from any location on the site, via the primary navigation bar at the top. You may click the Mystery School link to arrive here, or simply "mouse-over" the link to reveal and access specific Path Portals. For Example "Mystery School-->Rosicrucian".

Mystery School:

Currently in development, the Mystery School at Esoteric Online will include some of the latest in learning management technologies to provide an efficient, and reliable means of self-education on the web.

 

Some of the core features will include:

  • University Level, integrated Learning Management System
  • Comprehensive curriculum independent to subject
  • Sequential Lesson plans for cumulative learning
  • Multiple choice, true false, essay, and assignments
  • Self-check quizzing
  • Rich-Media integration with audio and video


The purpose of the Mystery School is to provide a system of interactive learning in the Sacred Sciences, that will dynamically incorporate many other resources available on Esoteric Online. From the new initiate to the adept, you will attain knowledge into the ancient mysteries in a way that allows true incorporation into your life.

Please understand that these will be more like classes, in that they are online. Much of what can be learned cannot be learned here, and the understanding of these mysteries are what make you worthy of experiencing them and coming to known them. What one can come to understand, will be understood and known. In this way some things need to remain secret to be known when one is ready for the teaching and disseminated over time so that one continually yearns to learn, and the thirst isn't quenched so fast that one lacks foundation. This is the purpose of gradual initiation.

From the Conversations with Pythagoras:
“Tell us please about Yourself: how did You receive Initiations, how did You teach then!”

“The harmony between the development of love, wisdom, and power — this I would call the Golden Law in the art of raising souls.

“In that last incarnation I was a Soul that already had experience of cognition of God in many past lives. The main purpose of that incarnation was to reestablish the truth about God for many generations of people on the Earth.

“One can say that I was the last one of those who received initiation in Egypt in the traditions which originated from Thoth-the-Atlantean but had been perverted with time.

“The priests, who taught Me, possessed large personal power and knew many magical mysteries. But they get obsessed with growing of will and power, and thus they lost the Divine Light and the purity of souls. Their desire to rule over others, the feeling of being chosen — obscured love in them. They considered their personal will a manifestation of Gods’ will… They believed that their powers are the highest possible for man… Love had been lost; there remained only aspiration for power. They had much knowledge remained from the Atlanteans — about the Earth and cosmic bodies, about many other things... They possessed the ability to influence bodies and souls…

But without Divine Love the power is dead… Only a soul transformed with Love can become wise! Only the spiritual heart is capable of walking completely the entire Path of Cognition of the Creator without stumbling — and of merging into the Divine Essence which controls the Universe!

“… I am grateful to them. Later, I gave them everything I could — when they incarnated again…

“… For many years I had been learning from them, but I had not lost the purity of My aspirations and My Love for the Creator. I studied the science of life. I mastered the methods of growing and expanding the consciousness in different eons. I went through the ritual of initiation, in the form it existed at that time. In that ritual, one experienced death as reality. The soul has to go through the entire scale of universal emanations — from hell to Light — and had to choose the Light.

“But the Light was not known to the priests.

“Therefore, this last step was revealed to Me by those Divine Souls Who met Me in that Light. They initiated Me into the laws of soul’s life and into the Divine Essence. While My body lied in a stone coffin used in initiations, I stayed in Mergence with the Highest…

“I was given a choice: to remain in the Light and not return into the body — or to come back; to come back and become a Guide, to restore for people the knowledge which I perceived in the Purity of the Great Origin of Everything. I chose the second, because this choice was already made by Me as the purpose of My life.

“I decided to create a system of initiations different from this mystical ‘whirlpool’ that I had to go through.

“… Many years had passed before I gained the possibility to create the School… I was taken captive among priests when Persian invaders came to Egypt and other countries.

“During the years of captivity, I strengthened My Mergence with the Primordial Light in the conditions hard for the body.

“In those years I studied also other religious rituals and sciences… I devised mentally a project of the School, which I realized later in Croton.”

“Divine justice is not like people imagine it. Nothing wrong comes to lives of people but only that which must come: what they attracted by their own thoughts and past deeds.

“God is the Creator of these Laws! And no affliction can fall unjustly upon man! There can be no undeserved, unneeded joy; only self-conceit, self-pity, and envy see it so in others!

“The justice of God is great: everyone receives and partakes of the fruit which they themselves sowed and grew. The result can be bitter, but one can develop in oneself other qualities to make the fruit sweet and beautiful!”

“When listening to someone, do not oppose him in your thoughts!

“Respect the thoughts of your interlocutor — with your silent attention and deep comprehension!

“In this way people manifest their love toward each other in conversation. In this way man manifests love for God when conversing with Him.

“Only when your mind is silent and listens, and your heart is full of love — only then God talks with you.”

We asked:

“Tell us please, did Your School use techniques similar to hatha yoga asanas for purifying the energies of the body?”

“I was familiar with such methods; they were used in Egypt, in particular. But I did not use them in My School, because they attract the attention of students to the body more than to the soul.

“The initial stages of learning in the School were purification and preparation — when the soul acquired knowledge about morality and purity, about the harmony of the Whole and the meaning of soul’s life in the body, the knowledge that man is a soul and the body is but soul’s temporary dwelling. Teaching students kindness, love, calm, morality — this was a preparatory stage before the next stage of raja yoga, as you call it. Our harmonious way of life also contributed to this: life at the expanse of the seashore, in pleasant climate with moderate heat and cold, with good nutrition. The students of the School used soft gymnastic exercises for bodies and swimming in the sea.

“The stage of work with the energies of the body began when the soul-love grew in size larger than the body, thanks in particular to life at the seashore and to the harmony of the sea expanse.

“Always the first step in mastering every new stage was done by the soul, and the body followed it by attuning to the new state of the soul. In this way the body purified. Any problem of the body went away when the corresponding problem or the vice of the soul disappeared on the causal plane.

“The soul-love, much larger than the body, attuned the body like an instrument which has seven chakras and the ‘strings’ of meridians so that to sound in harmony with the universe. This instrument allows the human soul to create the Great Music of Life and Harmony.

“On this stage we paid much attention to music and dance, which can imprint and convey to people elevated states of the soul.

i totally agree.. and....i have experinced that after the initiation to whatever it may be the knowlege is all inside of u. i Have studied many works of others... and still all in all after learning the blueprints and basics the how toos are imprinted in your spirit

"Throughout antiquity, people believed that to acquire knowledge of supersensible truths one first had to develop supersensible organs. Everyone understood that spiritual forces lie sleeping in all human beings. They knew that such spiritual forces are not developed in the average person, but can be awakened and unfolded by prolonged exercises.

Adherents of the Mystery Schools in fact described these stages of development as very difficult. It was generally felt that a person who had developed such forces and was able to research the truth in this way was related to the ordinary person as a seeing person is related to one who is born blind. This is the kind of "vision" those within the holy Mysteries aimed at… ancient peoples understood that, for a person whose inner senses are awakened, a new world appears, one that ordinary seeing cannot perceive. Those consecrated in the Mysteries sought to create from ordinary human beings a human being who had evolved to a higher stage of evolution. Such a person they called an "initiate". Only the initiate was thought to be in a position to discover anything about supersensible truths by direct vision, by spiritual intuition." *2
