The Quantum mind

a place to discuss physics as it relates to consciousness.. anything from new discoveries, to "the observer effect", "non-locality", "entanglement", and other quantum phenomena, and what it means for us..

"All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force...
We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent Mind.
This Mind is the matrix of all matter.

~ Max Planck

Also i want to specially thank a close friend for helping me originate the idea!!

In an indeterminate Universe, possibilty and Creativity are infinite. Every moment is a slice of eternity that you have chosen. Every decision that you make alters your potential future. At the bounds of your finite life, there is a probable…Continue

so is there anybody still active in this group?  is anybody actually working on consciousness and the frontal lobe of the brain? Neurologists need quantum physics to explain some neurological phenomena and quantum physicists need some level of consciousness to explain certain nuclear events! there is a need for these two opposite thinking groups to get together with an open mind to explore what is possible. I believe that such a group already exists, has anybody heard of them? I would really like to hear from you.

about the shape animations. the first one, is called a Clifford Torus. It is a special type of torus that can only exist in 4d. when it is stereographically projected into 3d space and rotated, there is a brief point when the axis reaches infinity, then must loop back. technically, every point on a clifford torus lies at a fixed distance from the origin, meaning it can be seen as sitting inside of a 3-sphere, which is a 4dimensional hypersphere. when viewing the animation, its only a 3d representation, we cannot actually see the clifford torus in its true glory!

The second shape down, is called a 24-cell. It is a shape that cannot exist in 3 dimensions, it is completely unique to the 4th geometric dimension. so again we're only able to view the stereographic projection into 3d space. The boundary of a 24 cell is composed of 24 octahedral cells with 6 of them meeting at each vertex, and 3 at each edge. altogether 96 triangular faces, 96 edges, and 24 vertices.

The 3rd one down, is called a 600 cell. It is the 4th dimensional analog of an icosahedron. in 3d an icosahedron has 20 sides, 30 edges, and 12 vertices. and in 4 dimensions it has 600 tetrahedral cells with 20 meeting at each vertice. altogether it has 1,200 triangular faces, 720 edges, and 120 vertices. the animation is yet another stereographic projection into 3d space since we can't actually see it in its true glory. it goes to show how complex of a jump it would be from 3d into 4d. the dual of a 600 cell is the 120 cell which is the 4th dimensional analog of a dodecahedron.

And finally, the 4th one down is called an 8-cell, also known as tesseract or hypercube. It is the 4d analog of a cube. the surface of the tesseract consists of 8 cubical cells. total of 24 square faces, 32 edges, and 16 vertices.

These are only 4th dimensional analogs, and albeit as complex as they are, it is truly mindboggling to consider geometric dimensions higher then that. Garret Lisi for instance suggest up to 8 geometric dimensions to explain how subatomic particles move! these are but a tip of the iceberg for how geometrically complex our universe is, and what a tiny limited window of the beauty we can see with out eyes..

"The first of three interlocking segments of my personal philosophical entries pertaining to the ontological quest for truth; specifically what can be known with certainty?

Are there any absolute truths that can be known or is everything that we know truly a dream made reality by the immense power of our consciousness?"

hello welcome,

the images were found by a very close friend of mine called p1n.

im glad they resonated :)

I dont know where you found these Geometric forms, with the transparent planes, but Wow!

These images are what I have envisioned as "Concepts"

I mean it is my belief that we physically construct "boxes" or structures in our cerebral membranes through the manipulation of neurons, but Ive only seen these images in my mind!

It seems to me that thoughts and sensations are the result of electromagnetic manipulation(reflect, refract, absorb..etc.) and these images show to me how these "boxes" might actually look.

I have envisioned the "perfect" concept to be like a crystal, as it allows light to enter from all angles allowing one to see many perspectives. And these images totally show this idea! Wow thank you. I now know that Im not alone in thinking this!

p.s. sorry for the repetition, Im excited! :)
