What do you think these surveys mean?
Despite the information explosion over the past ten years the surveys below give us a profound look into the awareness of our fellows:
The height of irony:
¶ Fifty-three percent of Protestants could not identify Martin Luther as the man who started the Protestant Reformation.
¶ Forty-five percent of Catholics did not know that their church teaches that the consecrated bread and wine in holy communion are not merely symbols, but actually become the body and blood of Christ.
¶ Forty-three percent of Jews did not know that Maimonides, one of the foremost rabbinical authorities and philosophers, was Jewish.
Fox News tried to do a survey recently about "who killed Christ" and faced enormous criticism. Why are people threatened by a question?
But then again....no one thing is ever to blame for anything as with Hitler and the Jews.
No one has done a survey to determine how many people know or do not know if Jesus was a Jew and did not invent Christianity or the Catholic Religion.
Yet I met a man who comes to my complex every Sunday to serve communion to those who cannot attend mass. He assumed I was Catholic from my last name (Italian) and invited me to "receive" if I had confessed, etc. In our brief discussion I found out that he did not know Jesus was a Jew! I noticed his shoulders got a little more bent with this disclosure.
What I did not say and I regret now is that I "confess" to Source and say "if I knew better I would have done better." It is me that has to forgive me. I am here to learn from contrasts and this I KNOW.
Light is information and information is Light.
In the final analysis: MAYBE NONE OF THE ABOVE MATTERS.
What if all beliefs are shit? What if it is good that no one really knows anything? That is ........until they listen to the truth of their own heart.
Are we not all Academy Award winners.....playing a role????
What does all this mean? Does it matter? IS SHIT EVER GOOD????
