"When one realizes
one is asleep,
at that moment
one is already half-awake."
P. D. Ouspensky

'Truth gets you high. There is no doubt about it. Lies bring you down. To lie to another person you have to see them as "him" or "her" or "them," i.e., as an object. Such distance that the act of lying creates turns out in the long run to cost more than the lie gained for you in the first place. Once you understand the workings of karma you see that there is no escape from the effects, both short and long terms, of your acts, i.e., acts done in the service of the ego.'..............Ram Das

Beautiful words of truth from the wise to meditate on.......

"It is never a question of belief; the only scientific attitude one can take on any subject is whether it is true. The law of gravitation worked as efficiently before Newton as after him. The cosmos would be fairly chaotic if its laws could not operate without the sanction of human belief."........Sri Yukteswar

You need to become a pen in the Sun’s hand. We need for the earth to sing through our pores and eyes........Hafiz

"The more and more each is impelled by that which is intuitive, or the relying upon the soul force within, the greater, the farther, the deeper, the broader, the more constructive may be the result."
Edgar Cayce

"If you remain in the present moment, you will never get hurt. Forget about your past life. Forget about your future life. Unless you open your heart, unless you jump into the inner abyss, you are not going to become enlightened. Ultimately, you have to knock on your own door; you have to beg at your own door; you have to come back to yourself."...........Hindu teaching

"Since I cannot see a person’s face, I must judge his sincerity by his voice. Usually when I hear someone congratulate a friend on some success, I also hear envy in his voice, and when I hear expressions of condolence, I hear a secret tone of pleasure. Not so with Bankei; when he expressed happiness, his voice was completely happy, and when he expressed sadness, sadness was all I heard."
a blind man’s eulogy to Zen Master Bankei

"Even if you have not awakened,
if you realize that your perceptions and activities
are all like dreams and you view them with detachment,
not giving rise to grasping and rejecting discrimination,
then this is virtually tantamount to awakening from the dream."
Zen Master Muso Kokushi

"Truth undermines the self to which we so desperately cling. The truth is not hidden from us, we are hiding from it.".................Kabbalah

So true Om, and your words added to my meditative thoughts today...and below was my mantra...

"It is in the infinite ocean of myself that the mind-creation called the world takes place. I am supremely peaceful and formless, and I remain as such.".........Ashtavakra Gita

you are right Sun........all the concepts professing truth at best can only point to where it is and will always fall short of directly cognizing Truth within as a Real experience

Of course the mind will always want to find ways to stay in the external world of thought.... endeavors..and all sorts of distractions but with  effortless effort we can go within and experience Truth.........OM

"By the sword of transcendental knowledge destroy these doubts of the self, born of ignorance, situated in the heart and taking shelter of the science of uniting the individual consciousness with the Ultimate Consciousness, for battle"
Bhagavad Gita

It seems Om and Dean that it is far more valuable to plant seeds of truth within to have them flower with spiritual empowerment that is infinitely lasting than the quick gratification of sense-less things.....

"The unknown, or, as we call it, the occult, is the freshness and the flower of life. A child can often recognize it; but we approach it with minds compulsively bent on classifying it in accordance with our defensive arrangements, and in doing this we stick many labels on it. … Yet it is possible to rediscover the flower of the unknown… If we can bring ourselves to consider that our individuality may not be something that has to be closed in and defended but that it may rather like a fresh fountain rising perpetually within us and overflowing in undemanding goodwill to others, we then have the basis for many experiments and adventures. But nobody else can make such experiments or endure such adventures for us, and nobody can compel us to become free-thinking adults."

Hugh Shearman
